Las Vegas Freebies: How to Get Drinks, Tickets, Club Passes, and More for Free!

The Best Las Vegas Freebies That You Haven't Heard About!
If you Google "Las Vegas Freebies", you'll no doubt get plenty of search results about:
- the Bellagio fountain show
- the trapeze performances at Circus Circus
- "ask your hotel if they have a 'fun book' with coupons".
I'm sorry, but to me, the Bellagio fountain show is not a freebie because it doesn't have a retail value. And I have yet to see a 'fun book' containing a coupon I'd want to redeem.
This page is different. This page only contains REAL freebies and deals that are good enough for the locals to use. So if you're insterested in saving some money on your next trip to Vegas, read on!
Free Cocktails (Without Having to Play Slots or Tables)
It's common knowledge that you can get free cocktails while you're playing at the slots or table games. However, if you're not into gaming and still want free high-end cocktails, check out spyonvegas.com. Every weeknight, the Spy On Vegas organization hosts an "open bar" event at a place on or near the Strip. I say "open bar" in quotes because the free drinks are usually limited to whatever brand of alcohol is being promoted that night. But the promoted drinks are always 100% free and the bar is always hopping!
Free Champagne at the Wynn (and other Foursquare Freebies)
You've probably heard of FourSquare - the app where you "check in" to a venue using your smartphone. If you don't already use it, you should download it before you get to Vegas, as FourSquare check-ins unlock some great freebies.
One of my favorite freebies is the free champagne at Blush nightclub at the Wynn. To redeem your drink, just show your FourSquare check-in at the podium to receive a complimentary glass!
There are lots of great FourSquare freebies available at other casinos as well. O'Sheas and the Palms offer 2-for-1 drinks at select bars, and Imperial Palace offers a 2-for-1 buffet.
Free Club Passes to Vegas's Best Nightclubs
Many times, you can get passes for "VIP Admission" (often times translating into free cover) for your favorite club. Please note that sometimes the passes are only valid for ladies --- please don't take it personally guys, that's just the way Vegas works!
The best way to get VIP passes is to go to the entrance of the club you're interested in a few hours before they open (sometime between 7-9 PM is best). There will often times be a host/hostess standing outside of the door; ask them if there are any VIP/no cover passes available.
If you don't have any luck at the club entrance, try the front desk (passes are often handed out to hotel guests as a way to get them to spend more time on property) and the concierge.
Using the method above, I've been able to collect VIP passes to Tryst, XS, The Bank, Jet, Pure, Blush, and more!
Remember: these passes will save you the cover charge, but for an even better VIP experience, try going through a Las Vegas club promoter (read further for more info!)
Las Vegas Club Promoters: Your Key to Nightlife Deals
Booking your nightclub reservations through a Las Vegas club promoter can give you access to special VIP privileges. The deals vary by night, club, and the gender of your group, but going through a club promoter is almost always better than waiting in a long line at the club and paying a $20-$40 cover!
To get great VIP service at three of the most popular Vegas nightclubs, Tao, Lavo, and Marquee, I recommend contacting Shella Q. San Nicolas - Las Vegas Club Promoter. She can get you on the guestlist for these clubs, and help you get insider deals on Marquee/ Lavo/ Tao bottle service and table reservations. To get in touch with Shella, you can email: Shella.quiatchon@taogroup.com or visit: www.Twitter.com/shellaq and www.facebook.com/shellaq . Tell her that Alison sent you!
Free Show Tickets
Before you read further, be warned that you have to know someone with a Nevada (Clark County) ID for this to work.
If you do happen to know a Vegas local, free show tickets can be available to you every night of your stay! Just ask your friend to sign up for the http://www.showtickets4locals.com mailing list. Showtickets4locals.com offers free tickets to shows on the Strip every night to local residents. Cirque tickets are rarely available, but there's always a good selection of comedy and magic acts to choose from!
...And The Almost Free: Tips for Hotel, Food, and Show Savings
Hotels
1. Find out what the mystery hotels are on Priceline and Hotwire are. If you're like me, you love the prices on Priceline and Hotwire, but bidding on an unknown 4-star hotel "on or near the north part of the strip" can be risky. Luckily there are a few sites to help you predict what the mystery property is -- BetterbBidding.com and BiddingForTravel.com are the two best. One these sites, travelers share what hotels they got on Hotwire and Priceline and how much they paid for them. This is valuable information because you'll be very likely to get the same hotel, even if you book for a different date.
2. If you're booking your reservation directly with the hotel and want to save some money, check for promotion codes. I have a few hubs that provide the current codes for 20% off your stay and more:
